These co-occurring disorders can be especially damaging to the progress of addiction recovery treatment. This is primarily due to the fact that these individuals run the risk of returning to substance abuse after they have received treatment for their addiction. This is due to the fact that the client may return to substance abuse in order to self-medicate the symptoms of their co-occurring disorder. Fortunately, with dual diagnosis mental health treatment, the specialists at our drug rehab clinic can provide these types of clients with the care they need. When the symptoms of the co-occurring disorder have also been treated, clients won’t be tempted to self-medicate when they leave our addiction recovery center.
Dual Diagnosis

For those clients who are dealing with a co-occurring mental health disorder, we are proud to provide dual diagnosis mental health treatment. As reported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, also known as SAMHSA, roughly half of those Americans who are dealing with addiction are also dealing with a co-occurring mental health disorder. Making this already complicated matter more complex is the fact that many clients are not even aware that they are dealing with a co-occurring disorder.
Group Therapy

We also provide group therapy sessions, which our clients attend together under the supervision of one of our staff members. Some clients are hesitant about group therapy when they first enter our drug rehab clinic, but they soon grow to love attending this session. In fact, for many of our clients, the group forms the foundation of a sober support network that persists after our addiction treatment program has ended.
